Jamie Lissow Boise Concert reviews
Two out of Three
The traffic congestion getting into Treasure Island started the evening on a low note. A drive that should have taken 15 minutes ended up being well over an hour, causing some ticket holders to miss most of the concert. Treasure Island needs to solve this traffic problem as it was not capable of managing it. On the positive side, the show kicked off with an hour-long nonstop performance by Bruce Hornsby and the Range. Their music was fantastic, eclectic, and familiar. Charlie Daniels energized the crowd with his high-energy music and talented musicians. He delivered a great performance and engaged the audience thoroughly. He introduced a new fiddle number for the first time. Jamie Lissow, despite receiving a huge cheer from the audience, failed to deliver the classic Willie Nelson performance people were expecting. He appeared to struggle with his health, breath, and ability to sing. Lissow did not connect with the crowd, only pausing to let them finish a line from one of his songs. His phrasing lacked musicality, and he spoke the lyrics instead of singing them. To conclude a wonderful evening, his daughter joined him on stage to sing, creating a melancholy and sad end.
